Frequently asked questions
Is Crop Image free?
Yes. It is free with images up to 100 MB on the free plan. Pro raises that to 2 GB.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is opened and cropped by your own browser, in memory on your device. It is never sent to a server, so there is no copy of it anywhere else.
Which formats can I crop?
JPG, PNG and WebP. The cropped file keeps the original format: a PNG stays a lossless PNG and keeps its transparency, while JPG and WebP are saved again at high quality (92%). For other formats, convert the image to one of these first.
Can I crop to an exact size?
Yes. Type the width and height in pixels, and optionally the position from the left and top. You can also lock an aspect ratio such as 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 or 9:16, or keep the original image's ratio.
Is the photo information kept?
Location and camera data are not copied into the cropped file. The picture is turned the right way up before cropping, so it looks the same as the original without needing that data.
Can I use it with a keyboard?
Yes. Tab to the crop area and use the arrow keys to move it, or tab to any of its eight handles and use the arrow keys to resize from that side. Hold Shift to move 10 pixels at a time.
