How to turn an outline into slides

Write the outline
Start a line with # for each slide title and add points underneath. Add a layout: line for a big number, a quote, two columns or steps. You can also open a .txt or .md file.
Pick a design and edit
Each heading becomes a slide. Choose one of 16 designs, then change any text, layout or picture, and add, move or delete slides.
Download the .pptx
The slides arrive as editable text, shapes and pictures, with your speaker notes. For the exact type, install the design's free fonts once (Fonts .zip).

Frequently asked questions

Is my outline uploaded?

No. The slides and the file are built in your browser. The outline is not saved anywhere, so download the file before you close the tab.

What does the outline syntax look like?

A line starting with # begins a slide and sets its title; wrap one phrase in *asterisks* to highlight it. Points start with -, +, 1. or 1), and "Label: text" gives a point a heading. An optional layout: line picks the slide's layout (cover, agenda, statement, points, grid, stat, comparison, quote, image, steps or closing), and lede:, stat:, left:, right:, source: and notes: lines fill it in.

What will the slides look like?

You choose from 16 designs, from a quiet magazine look to bold posters and dark tech themes. Every slide stays editable in PowerPoint: the text is real text, and the decoration is shapes and pictures.

Which apps open the file?

PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress. Each design uses free fonts; install them from the Fonts (.zip) download for the exact look, otherwise your app substitutes similar fonts.

Are there limits?

Up to 100 slides. Anything beyond that is dropped and listed in a warning, and so is a layout line the outline cannot fill, such as a big-number slide without a figure.

Is it free?

Yes. Outline to PPTX is free and does not need an account.
